I.L Jensen's school (19th century): Arrangement with fruits in a Greek bowl on a marble frame. Oil on mahogany panel. 35 x 44 cm. Unsigned. Framed: 48 x 59 cm. The arrangement here is classic and quite in the spirit of IL Jensen. At an auction in 2004, an identical arrangement of fruits painted in 1839 by the Danish flower painter Julie Holm was sold. The painting was sold here together with a flower arrangement painted by Julie's sister, Line Holm. Julie Holm may well have made another version of the motif. Alternatively, another IL Jensen student may have been involved.
