Bio:
Monica Backström (1939–2020) was a Swedish glass designer and artist, best known for her work for Kosta Boda from 1958 onward. She became one of the leading figures in Swedish studio glass during the second half of the twentieth century, working with both functional glass and experimental art glass. Her works are characterised by organic forms, vivid colours, and decorative surfaces, and are represented in several international museum and private collections.
