Item no.:417356
Description:
Height 18 cm.Don Carlos porter glass from the early 1900s.
The glass is made at a number of Danish glassworks and is sometimes called, egg shape.
Holmegaard manufactures the glass as a complete service in at least four sizes, from schnapps to large porter glass, under the name "No. 72". A crystal version with a faceted stem was sold under the name "Bodega".
Kastrup's sells the same model under the name Bodega, which unlike Holmegaard's "Bodega" was not in crystal or faceted.
Aalborg has been producing the glass since 1899, but it was discontinued as early as 1905.
The glasses are mouth-blown with clear stribes from the glass makers tool and a few are with fine sand pontils underneath.
They are in good condition with expected traces of wear.
