Description:
Height 8 cm.The glass is made with a polished pontil underneath, indicating that it is before 1900. It has fine marks in the glass from the glass maker's rod and two fine mollexes.
Barrel glass is showed in Danish glass catalogs from 1850 and until the 1920s.
They are made at Holmegaard under the name Tøndeglas(Barrel glass) and on Aalborg Glassworks under the name Baril.
Aalborg Glasworks stops making them around the 1900's but Holmegaard continues the production for 20 years.
