Description:

Height 9 cm. to the handle.
Diameter of saucer 13 cm.

The Nymphenburg factory was founded in 1747 by Franz Ignaz Niedermeyer with financial support from Elector Max III Joseph of Bavaria. However, the production of porcelain only begins in 1753. Elector Max III Joseph of Bavaria dies in 1770 and Nymphenburg is then supported by Karl Theodor of Palatinate who also owns Frankenthal, which closes in 1799 after which Nymphenburg becomes his real focus. The beginning of the 19th century must therefore be regarded as Nymphenburg's actual first period.

The cup has a beautiful swane neck handle finished with maskeron. It has a step-shaped foot and a slightly flared drinking edge. The cup is decorated in overglaze and with beautiful wide and shiny gold edges. The motif is Wurzburg. It is of exceptionally fine quality, it is almost possible to count the windows of the castle and count the branches of the trees.

The cup is signed Wurzburg and with impressed marks for Nymphenburg.
The saucer and cup is in absolutely perfect condition.

Saucer is included in the price.
