Coffee cup with saucer, faience, 19th century. With King Frederik VI's portrait and text in German: Friederich 6, König von Dannemark in transfer technique. Leg faience with green glaze lines. Cup: H.: 7.5 cm. Dia.: 12.5 cm. Saucer dia: 17 cm. The saucer is stamped with an anchor and BF 2.
Frederick VI was King of Denmark between 1808 and 1839.
The cup is thus one of the oldest with transfer technique from the beginning of the 19th century intended for the German/Danish area. The cup was probably made in England.
