Item no.:630682
Description:
Peter Christensen Aschberg Kraft (1704 - 1753) Faabrog, Denmark: Silver tumbler 1739. Brahetrolleborg, Funen. On the side cartouche: Brahetrolborg 1739. With a hunter shooting a target with a rifle. Also monogram. Master's stamp. H.: 4.2 cm. Dia.: 6.5 cm.Brahetrolleborg was owned in the period 1738 - 1750 by Conrad Ditlev Count Reventlow (1704 - 1750). His business was strongly connected to Brahetrolleborg. Reventlow had a long career as, among other things, county governor, diocesan governor and president of the Supreme Court.
The toddler was probably given as a gift in connection with a celebration on the estate.
The existence of the silversmith Kraft has been known through the sources, but his master's mark has never been seen. This is the first time it has been found. The mark has been verified by Henrik Jacobsen, January 2026, who has revised Bøje's Danish Gold and Silversmith Marks before 1870. Syddansk Universitetsforlag 2022.
A real rarity!
