Bio:
Porzellanmanufaktur Meissen was founded in 1710 in Saxony and is the oldest porcelain factory in Europe. The manufactory became famous for developing the first true hard-paste porcelain in Europe under Johann Friedrich Böttger (1682–1719) and Ehrenfried Walther von Tschirnhaus (1651–1708). Meissen is particularly renowned for its finely hand-painted decorations, including the celebrated blue onion pattern introduced in the 1730s, which remains one of the factory’s most iconic and enduring designs.
