Elegant and decorative composition depicting a seated woman surrounded by birdcages, executed in Icart’s characteristic Art Deco style with refined linework and delicate colouring. Signed in pencil.

Bio:
Louis Icart (1888–1950) was a French painter, graphic artist, and illustrator, born in Toulouse and later active in Paris. He gained widespread recognition during the Art Deco period for his elegant and often sensual depictions of women, primarily produced as etchings using aquatint and drypoint techniques. Icart also worked in fashion illustration and book design, and his works were widely collected in both Europe and the United States during the 1920s and 1930s.
