Chinese ceramic grave figurine from the Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD). This type of figurine was placed in the grave with the deceased. The figurine could, for example, symbolize a servant or maidservant for the afterlife. This figurine has probably been fully glazed, but only remnants of glaze are visible on the face.
