Bio:
Lauritz Sørensen (1882–1952) was a Danish painter particularly associated with marine and coastal subjects. He specialised in ships, harbours and maritime landscapes, drawing many of his subjects from Danish waters, including the Limfjord and the North Sea coast. His works are characterised by a naturalistic treatment of maritime environments and an atmospheric handling of light, water and changing weather conditions. Sørensen’s marine paintings continue to appear on the Danish auction and art market.
