Set of three Japanese Kutani plates comprising one large and two smaller plates. Decorated with a geometric radial pattern in orange, blue, turquoise and gold tones, with detailed ornamentation around the rims. Marked on the underside.

Bio:
Kutani refers to a distinguished Japanese porcelain tradition with roots in Kaga Province dating to the 17th century. Kutani porcelain is particularly renowned for its rich decoration and distinctive use of colour. During the first half of the 20th century, traditional Japanese decorative techniques were combined with contemporary geometric design, as exemplified by this set dating from around the 1940s.
