Ida Holm Mortensen, unique teapot.

Unique handmade ceramic teapot with a rounded, full-bodied form, a high curved handle and sculpturally formed spout. The teapot is finished in a light cream-coloured glaze and decorated with small figurative motifs on the body. Model from 1990.

Bio:
Ida Holm Mortensen (1950–2023) was a Danish ceramicist, painter and graphic artist. She attended the Funen Academy of Art’s Painting School from 1972 to 1977 and subsequently worked with several ceramicists. She concentrated particularly on stoneware and Japanese raku firing. Her ceramics are characterised by humorous, narrative decoration incorporating motifs drawn from nature and rural life. Mortensen participated in several group exhibitions at the Johannes Larsen Museum, which presented a memorial exhibition of her work in 2023.
